As a B&B, we have an impact on our environment and on society. We try to remain aware of that at all times and to incorporate our commitment to sustainability ever more closely into the way we run our B&B. In the choices we make, we seek a good balance between our guests’ comfort and the impact on the world we live in.

We understand that this work is never finished and that we can always do better. At the moment, we have adopted the following measures:

• Our home was built with high-level insulation, a ventilation system with heat recovery and a geothermal heat pump controlling the heating and the hot water for the bathrooms.
• Thanks to sixty solar panels and large southwest-facing windows, the house is almost energy neutral.
• Three underground rainwater tanks with a total capacity of 20,000 litres provide the water supply for the toilets and the garden.
• Our cleaning and laundry products are almost exclusively organic.
• We hang the wash up to dry outdoors whenever possible. We use the dryer only when necessary.
• Hand soap, shower gel and shampoo in the guest rooms is provided in refillable pumps.
• In our breakfasts, we use organic ingredients whenever possible and avoid disposable packaging.
• We do most of our shopping in packaging-free shops, taking along our reusable bags and boxes.
• We prefer working with suppliers who are committed to socially responsible entrepreneurship.
• We are a partner of Kempen2030, a collaborative arrangement within the Kempen intermunicipal development company (IOK), the aim of which is to make Kempen a climate-friendly region.
• Without trying to foist our vision on anyone, we want to motivate our guests and inspire them to make their stay with us a sustainable one.
